Open Mic Night Highlights

This year's open mic night came to a spectacular close, with over a billion acts that seemed to all blur together. But as always, the acts involving the Blue Boys were crowd favorites.

First up was the absolute live highlight of the night. Choreographed by the great Laura Sims and Kimmmiey Bostedo dance duo along with OA's own Big Willey, the GYP's cut several, no, MANY rugs in an amazing display of "Evolution of Dance"-esque routines, easily topping their 2007 performance.

And finally, the music video that won it all. Watch and weep.

Buckets and Bongos '08

The precursor to the Blue House Blues House Band, Buckets and Bongo's preformed at an open mic night about a year ago to rave reviews.

"...played with passion and grace, the most notable performance of the night (and for the second year in a row) went to Old Azul's 'Buckets and Bongos'...and it goes without saying that (Bandleader Alex) Davis is such a good looking guy."
-The New York Sun-Post Times Weekly

In honor of our upcoming open mic performance, here is the two minutes which will live in infamy. Note the women (mostly Mary Ann Lovern) screaming wildly in the audience.

The Bake Off II - Official Rules

One week away, baby!

ENTRIES

- All entries must be on the table and labeled with name of group and members @ Old Azul by 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 27th

- Portion sizes are not regulated, but the more the better because there will be a lot of people. There is no way you can feed everybody, duh.

JUDGING

- Five Judges, one for each year (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Seniors+SuperSeniors, plus one wild card) have been contacted and will be revealed soon.

- You will be judged on three different aspects:

1.) Taste - pretty self-explanatory. Make it crazy delicious.

2.) Presentation - you will present your deserts from the Joshua Krisinger Memorial Stage behind Old Azul to a live audience of beautiful women. You may do this anyway you would like, including entry and exit. If you have a particular song your group would like played, provide it - you may use the outdoor speakers. Also, Ben Jammin will be providing beautiful classical piano between groups from the stage. Go all out on this. Thats how Thug Mansion won last year. Please no full-frontal nudity. Or fireworks. Or old people, they are a liability.

3.) Creativity - this encompasses everything, from how your desert looks to the presentation.

- Special awards will be given, so even if your sucks you may still get something.

- Finally, a popular vote will be issued at the end of the event where the entire audience can vote for one of their favorite. The winner gets an extra overall point.

Any questions, comments or intimidation call Alex (706.594.5081) or Nate (678.427.2184)

Or if you need computer help call Jammin, cause it seems like everybody is these days.

YEEEET

Profile #1: Ben Jammin

Benjamin (BenJammin') Davis is highlighted in this first Blue Boy Profile. Easily the classiest of all the Blue Boys, he is, simply put, "...oh yes, quite excellent."

Welcome to OA

Six dudes live in a huge blue house called Old Azul. Its not really old, but it is blue, and we think Azul is blue in french or something. Also O.A. was mysteriously witten in the tiles on the front porch, so the name fit anyway.

Heres Danny choppin wood.

Stay tuned for more videos.
